Interesting thing would be to see how products like this become mainstream. A lot of Gen AI products are not allowed in financial services and education domains though Search Engines like Google and others are .
Another interesting point is that monetisation through Advertising still is the most sought after segment. We continue to compete for eyeballs and branding real-estate.
I think it is a matter of time (when and not if) that GenAI products will become common in some of more restricted industries.
Given the amount of choices consumers has these days, consumers are more conscious on moving to paid plans for any of the services - leaving product companies to tap into the other side of the markerplace i.e brands.
interesting differentiation and very specific. This makes me realize that…. not everyone is going to assume each of the providers are that different for their needs. I’ve been trying to compare Claude vs Gemini vs Perplexity each time I have a question. I copy and paste the same question into all 3. The Perplexity written answer seems very much like that of Claude’s, though with source links That also tells me I’m underutilizing Claude… though for timely info (not in the form of a question) use Perplexity? At the least I’ll try altering what I type when seeking the same info across each.
Perplexity has an ambition to simplify search. So I would recommend using Perplexity for all things you use Google Search for. And see if you find it easier to search on Perplexity vs. Google Search - because perplexity is still evolving.

Claude AI is primarily designed for natural, text-based conversations and excels in tasks like summarization, editing, Q&A, decision-making, and code-writing. It is not a search engine and does not have internet access to provide the latest current events, which Perplexity does.
